Manchester City look too short in tight derby

What is your best bet of the weekend?
I fancy Brighton at Huddersfield. I like what Chris Hughton is doing with the Seagulls, whose last three road trips have produced wins at West Ham and Swansea and a defeat at Old Trafford which Jose Mourinho all but apologised for.

Huddersfield are now starting to ship goals and plunge down the table.

Which favourites look the most vulnerable?
I wouldn’t take a short price about any serial non-scorers, which is definitely what Crystal Palace are.

Eight goals in 15 matches is a terrible record and while they are more potent since Wilfried Zaha returned, they’ve still managed to chuck in back-to-back 0-0s.

Now they take on a Bournemouth side who are never easy to dismiss.

Where is the value at Old Trafford?
Manchester City are too short. United had a great result at Arsenal and are starting to play well while City look to have gone off the boil.

Paul Pogba’s absence is a real blow so Jose Mourinho, who’s cautious anyway in this type of game, will be doubly cautious. I see it being tight and I don’t see many goals so its under 1.5 goals for me.

Can Everton get anything at Anfield?
I think they can. Sam Allardyce being on the touchline has lifted spirits at Everton.

The team has a leader, someone who knows what he’s doing. He knows that Liverpool won’t change what they do and that Everton are going to have to fight fire with fire.

I can see a real goal feast and would suggest there could be more than three.

Which English team will progress furthest in the Champions League?
Given that Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus were runners-up, there are some perilous pairings to come.

As for Chelsea, they can only get three sides in the last 16, two of whom are Barcelona and PSG.

I can see one of the Premier League boys making the final, and Manchester City would get my vote.

Arsenal at West Ham. The Gunners are the ultimate flat-track bullies and they’ll enjoy the open spaces at the London Stadium, a venue which the Hammers themselves have little time for.

There has been no obvious sign of progress at West Ham under David Moyes and the Gunners, who have fired in 12 goals in three games, are in the mood.
