Chelsea strong enough to see off Leicester

1 What's your best bet of the weekend?
Leicester will be hoping Jamie Vardy starts against Chelsea, though even if he does I would still fancy Chelsea at the King Power. The League Cup semi-final exit to Aston Villa will have taken a lot out of Leicester and Chelsea, though inconsistent themselves, are good enough to punish them.

2 Which favourites look most vulnerable?
Manchester City were toying with United in the League Cup on Wednesday night but just couldn’t score, and I sense there’s something not quite right at City.

Mikel Arteta has gone, Pep Guardiola is resigned to the fact that the league title is beyond them and now they are losing the odd game which they have utterly dominated.

Pep looks and sounds like someone with something on his mind and I’m not sure everything’s spot on.

What is for sure is that they are still in the Champions League, are odds-on to win the League Cup and have the FA Cup to go for as well. And given that the league title race is all but over, a domestic cup double would probably still represent a relative success.

Tottenham are also in the FA Cup and Jose Mourinho will have that in his sights, though he’ll also want to be making some sort of a charge for the top four.

Their results are better since he took over and this will be a tough game for City.

3 Are Leicester and Chelsea nailed-on for top-four spots?
Leicester are trying to throw it away at the minute as they go through something of a sticky patch.

Without Jamie Vardy they look shy up front – Kelechi Iheanacho and Ayoze Perez are not the answer if the goals start drying up – but I still think they’ve got enough in the tank to finish in the top four.

Chelsea are really inconsistent, but fortunately for them so are Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United. Again, they’ve got enough quality and with Frank’s drive I’d have them to snatch fourth.

4 Give us a winner from the FA Cup replays
Shrewsbury will feel they've an outstanding chance of beating Liverpool at Anfield now that they know Jurgen Klopp is resting his entire first-team squad.

They’ll want to make it a physical examination of Neil Critchley’s youngsters and it will be a tough test, make no mistake.

But going to Anfield is still going to be a big ask for a League One club, especially as it looks like there is going to be a big crowd because of reduced ticket prices, which is a really smart move.

Shrewsbury are going to have a real game on their hands and I fancy Critch’s kids to come good. There is some real talent in that group.

5 Will Bruno Fernandes be a hit at Old Trafford?

It’s hard to know but United needed someone. Fernandes played against Liverpool for Sporting Lisbon in pre-season in America and he stood out. He scored one and made one in a 2-2 draw. He likes to get forward, is very creative when he’s on the ball, he’s got an eye for goal and he sees a pass. It’s a good signing.
