Top tip

Denver +10

Kansas City have already secured the AFC West title and although a victory over Denver is always cherished at Arrowhead Stadium, the Broncos could provide them with a tough test.

The visitors are out of playoff contention but they have covered the handicap in five of their last six games and the smell of potential revenge will be strong in their nostrils following their 30-6 defeat to the Chiefs at Mile High in Week Seven.

Rookie quarterback Drew Lock has been given his opportunity by Denver in the last two games and he will have been delighted with the impact he made against Houston last week when he threw for 309 yards and three touchdown passes.

So there are bright signs for the future, particularly as the Broncos' defence remains pretty solid.

The Chiefs had a major scare when quarterback Patrick Mahomes injured his hand in last week's victory over New England but he has been able to throw in practice now the swelling has subsided.

Kansas City will have one eye on the playoffs and will not want to take any chances, which is another factor that makes a double-digit handicaps for the visitors an interesting betting proposition.

Next best

LA Chargers +2.5

The Chargers are another team out west who will be watching the playoffs on television, but they recovered well from three AFC West defeats to Oakland, Kansas City and Denver by beating Jacksonville with ease last week.

That game brought a welcome return to form for veteran quarterback Philip Rivers and they have the potential to be competitive as home underdogs against the playoff-chasing Vikings, who would have made their task a lot easier if they had got their act together on the road.

Four of their seven away games have finished in defeat and their victories in Dallas, Detroit and at the New York Giants have been against teams who have just six home wins between them this season.

The Chargers have a disappointing 5-8 record but none of their defeats have been by more than a seven-point margin and they are capable of holding their own against anyone on their day.

Best points bet

Over 46.5 points in Jacksonville at Oakland

Three successive defeats for the Raiders have seen their chances of the AFC West title slip away and they will be anxious to break that spell against the Jaguars, who have seen a promising season implode following five straight defeats.

A positive approach from both teams looks likely and while neither of them are averaging more than 20 points per game, the respective defences are struggling to such an extent that the offences will view this contest as a great opportunity to make their mark.

With Oakland having conceded an average of 28.2 points and Jacksonville 25.9, it would be no surprise if the points line was exceeded.

Best player bet

Kenny Golladay to score a touchdown

Detroit have endured a miserable season, losing their last six games, and the campaign cannot come to an end soon enough.

However, wide receiver Kenny Golladay has already registered more than 1,000 yards this season and scored ten touchdowns.

He has failed to cross the line in just five of his 13 appearances and with Marvin Jones set to miss the rest of he season, he is set to be a primary target for rookie quarterback David Blough, who has been thrust into the limelight after injuries to Matt Stafford and Jeff Driskel.
