There is an all-NFC East clash at the AT&T Stadium in the early hours as the Dallas Cowboys host the Washington Football Team – and for a few reasons the visitors look the play on the handicap.

For starters, Taylor Heinicke is set to return from the Covid-19 reserve list which will give Washington a big boost. The Football Team put up a strong fight on the road at Philadelphia last week despite having Garrett Gilbert, who had joined Washington just a couple of days beforehand, calling the shots.

The Cowboys have won three in a row, but none of those victories has been particularly impressive.

Prior to their three-game winning streak the Cowboys had lost three of their four outings, with a couple of those losses coming in ugly fashion.

Quarterback Dak Prescott has quietly struggled recently, including when these sides last met only a couple of weeks ago.

Prescott averaged only 5.4 yards per attempt with two interceptions in that 27-20 victory and, with that in mind, it’s difficult to see Dallas running away with the return fixture.

Opposite number Heinicke, who will probably have used his Week 15 absence to rest up some nagging injuries, is a capable playmaker and can keep this one to a one-score game.
