Match preview

Two of the league’s most dominant rushing teams collide as the AFC’s number one seeds Baltimore host Tennessee.

The Ravens have not been beaten since September with no side able to stop their dominant offence. They have averaged 206 rushing yards a game with quarterback Lamar Jackson posting a league-leading 36 passing touchdowns.

They host a fearless Titans team who qualified for this game with a huge victory over Super Bowl champions New England last week in which running back Derrick Henry had 182 rushing yards and a score. The week before he had 211 and found the end zone three times to take the regular-season rushing title.

Tennessee will need their offensive talisman to put up those sorts of numbers again if they are to have any chance of advancing, but they face a tall order with the Ravens defence holding teams to 93 rushing yards per game during the season, the fifth-best record in the league.

However, with much of the focus on Henry, quarterback Ryan Tannehill could go under the radar and put up a few rushing yards of his own.

He has shown a willingness to take off with the ball throughout the season, running for 185 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games, and can add to those numbers.
