Legendary quarterback Tom Brady is 4-6 with Hills to be playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season after he announced the end of his 20-year career with the New England Patriots on Tuesday.

Brady was set to become a free agent on Wednesday and was fancied to take a new deal with the Patriots before his shock announcement on Instagram.

The Buccaneers won seven matches last season but that is the 12th successive campaign that the franchise, owned by the Glazers who also have the controlling interest in Manchester United, have failed to make the playoffs.

The Florida outfit would plainly love to team the six-time Super Bowl winner with their talented receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but the market suggests they could face competition from the Los Angeles Chargers, who are 9-4 to capture the 42-year-old's services.

The Raiders, who have relocated to Las Vegas from Oakland during the off-season are 11-1 to sign him, but that looks unlikely after they added Tennessee's former number one draft pick Marcus Mariota to their roster on Monday.

Brady enjoyed unprecedented success at Gillette Stadium, where the Patriots won the AFC East division 17 times in the 19 seasons he played for them under Bill Belichick.

One of those was in 2008 when Brady tore his anterior cruciate ligaments in the season's first match.

In his statement, he said: "It has truly been the happiest two decades I could have envisioned in my life and I have nothing but love and gratitude for my time in New England."

The new season is scheduled to start on Thursday, September 10 and the NFL draft is still going ahead between April 23-25 despite the coronavirus outbreak.

Tom Brady's next team - best prices: 4-6 Tampa Bay, 9-4 Los Angeles Chargers, 11 Las Vegas Raiders, 12 Miami Dolphins, 17 Chicago Bears, 25 San Francisco 49ers, 33 Detroit Lions, 35 Indianapolis Colts, 50 bar
