Best bet
Buffalo Bills

After an off-season filled with talk of their playoff potential, Cleveland dropped to 2-6 last week following a 24-19 defeat in Denver.

Quarterback Brandon Allen was making his first start for the Broncos in that game, and the Browns could be in for more trouble from a QB named Allen - Josh Allen - when they host Buffalo.

While Cleveland made plenty of trips to the red zone in the first half of last week's game, they were unable to convert and had to settle for four field goals. Now they go up against a notoriously resilient Buffalo side who have held six of their eight opponents this season to no more than 17 points.

Buffalo have conceded the third-fewest points in the league behind New England and San Francisco, which has been the secret to their success. Last week Washington were unable to score a touchdown as the Bills dispatched them 24-9.

While their offence isn’t the strongest, rookie running back Devin Singletary is beginning to show signs of form and Allen continues to pose a dual threat in the passing and running games.

Cleveland have lost four in a row after beating Baltimore on the road to reach 2-2 and they have allowed 24 points or more in their last five games. Those defensive struggles should put the Bills in good stead to edge the game.

Next best bet
LA Rams -3 v Pittsburgh Steelers

Since losing three games in a row the LA Rams have returned to form with comfortable victories over Atlanta and Cincinnati (at Wembley before their bye week), and should add another when they take on Pittsburgh.

Sean McVay’s team will be fresh for that game following their post-London break as wide receiver Cooper Kupp looks to build on his phenomenal 220 yards and touchdown in the UK.

Pittsburgh have won their last three games and quarterback Mason Rudolph has shown improvement since taking over from Ben Roethlisberger, but they had to rely on luck last week as Indianapolis kicker Adam Vinatieri missed a late field goal that would have seen off the Steelers.

They have been competitive despite their issues but containing the Rams juggernaut is no easy task and they could be squeezed out at Heinz Field.

Best points bet
Over 16 Miami points v Indianapolis Colts

Miami earned their first win of the season last week as they defeated the ailing New York Jets 26-18, and with their offence doing surprisingly well they should put points on the board at Indianapolis.

Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns in that game, but most impressive was their ability to convert on third down, even when dealing with large yardage.

A four-game suspension handed to running back Mark Walton this week should lead to Fitzpatrick throwing the ball even more, and although the Colts’ defence has stood firm on multiple occasions this season they could be surprised by Miami’s nothing-to-lose approach.

Best player bet
Jared Cook to score a touchdown in Atlanta at New Orleans

Atlanta have been leaking touchdowns this season and their defence could be in for another long day when they take on the high-octane offence of New Orleans.

Darren Fells and Gerald Everett have been among the scorers against the Falcons and fellow tight end Jared Cook could join them. He is set to return from injury this week and can add to his two scores this season.
