Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Commanders

The Eagles are the belles of the NFC ball after opening the season 2-0, with quarterback Jalen Hurts’ MVP odds tumbling to 8-1 after a couple of excellent showings. The next test for the Eagles ace is a road game at divisional rivals Washington, who lost to the Detroit Lions in Week Two but shouldn’t be easily dismissed.

The Commanders' offence has been a pleasant surprise under Carson Wentz, ranking eighth in points per game through the first two weeks (27.5) and boasting the best red zone touchdown conversion rate in the league.

This Eagles are by far the best team Washington have come up against but Philly gave up 35 points in their last away assignment in Detroit, while rising star Hurts is yet to prove he can cut it on the road in divisional games, going 0-4 against the handicap in his career.

Las Vegas Raiders at Tennessee Titans

Neither side can afford to lose this game after starting the season 0-2 and the Raiders would do well to lean on their marquee off-season signing in this must-win contest.

Wide receiver Davante Adams had an exceptional game in Week One against the LA Chargers, recording ten catches for 141 yards and a touchdown, but he was quiet against Arizona last Sunday. But with the Raiders' second-best wide receiver Hunter Renfrow set to miss out, Adams' workload should increase markedly in Tennessee.

The Titans have huge injury concerns on defence, particularly among the defensive backs. The situation is so bleak that Tennessee picked up two players off practice squads this week with a view to both being involved on Sunday.

Their secondary was torn apart by Bills star receiver Steffon Diggs in Buffalo and Adams could do something similar.

Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals were lucky in Vegas last time out, climbing out of a 20-0 hole at half-time to beat the Raiders 23-29 in overtime.

Quarterback Kyler Murray saved Arizona’s bacon but they are still a poor side who can’t live with the NFL’s elite, of which defending Super Bowl champions the Rams are undoubtedly a part of.

LA have won ten of their 11 meetings with the Cardinals under head coach Sean McVay, going 6-1 against the spread in the last seven encounters. That’s persuasive in its own right but when you start to look at some of the key match-ups the Rams make even greater appeal.

The Cardinals have given up over 300 passing yards per game through the first two weeks due to a depleted secondary, while their first-choice running-back James Connor is a doubt for this game due to an ankle injury.

The Rams offence should be able to move the ball freely and maintain their historical dominance.

Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It's safe to say Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers isn’t a huge fan of Florida. He’s 3-5 in the Sunshine State in his career and trudges back this week to face the league’s top defence.

The Buccaneers have given up just 13 points through two games with their secondary ranked the league's leading pass defence, according to DVOA.

Tampa Bay recorded three interceptions against the Saints in Week Two, picked off Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott once in their season-opener and have had recent success against Rodgers.

Rodgers threw two interceptions on a 2020 visit to Tampa Bay, adding to a streak of at least two picks on three of his four road games against the Bucs. Given the Packers are short on quality pass catchers, Rodgers’ Florida fortunes are unlikely to improve.
