Free NFL picks, best bets and analysis for Sunday's games in Week 16 of the 2020 NFL season.

Indianapolis Colts at Pittsburgh Steelers

Where to watch

Sky Sports NFL, 6pm Sunday

Best bet

Indianapolis -1.5
1pt 10-11 Betfred

Preview

Pittsburgh seem intent on continuing their festive tradition of the Christmas collapse after slumping to a third straight loss against Cincinnati.

It has been the same story for the last three years, with the Steelers finding the going tough as soon as the calendar is flipped over to December.

This year they started 11-0 but their once productive offence has fallen off a cliff and putting extra pressure on their injury-hit defence.

They will have their hands full against a Colts team who have won three in a row and are peaking at the right time.

Indianapolis have been strong on the road, winning five of the last six, and can put down a playoff marker.

Key stats

  • Pittsburgh have failed to cover the handicap in their last seven December games.
  • The Steelers have lost three games in a row after winning their first 11 this season.
  • Pittsburgh have won eight of their last nine games at home against Indianapolis.

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Where to watch

Sky Sports NFL, 9.25pm Sunday

Best bet

Under 47.5 points
1pt 10-11 general

Preview

The Rams suffered the indignity of being the first team this season to lose to the New York Jets last week and they now face a must-win game against their NFC West rivals Seattle.

The Seahawks can clinch the division with a fifth win from their last six but they don’t have a good recent record against the Rams, losing five of the last seven meetings.

Seattle’s offence was shut down in the reverse fixture, marking the start of a noticeable decline in their offensive production. At the same time, the Seahawks defence has improved, leading to the last six games going under on the total points line.

The Rams are not to be trusted on offence with quarterback Jared Goff blowing hot and cold, and that all points towards a low-scoring battle.

Key stats

  • The Rams have won five of the teams' last seven meetings.
  • Nine of Los Angeles’ last 11 matches have gone under the total points line.
  • Seattle have failed to cover the handicap in five of their last seven games.

Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers

Where to watch

Sky Sports NFL, 1.20am Sunday night

Best bet

Tennessee +3.5
1pt 10-11 Betfair, Paddy Power

Preview

It's no surprise that this game has attracted a high total points line as two talented offences get set to go head-to-head.

Green Bay’s strength remains quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the MVP hopeful could enjoy a productive day against a Titans pass defence ranked 30th in the NFL.

Meanwhile, the Titans will lean on running-back Derrick Henry, who is on course to become only the eighth player to go over 2,000 rushing yards in a season.

The Packers will find slowing down Henry tough and even at 11-3, doubts remain over Green Bay due to their lack of form in big games - they have beaten only one team with a winning record this season.

Key stats

  • Tennessee have covered the handicap in four of their last five away games.
  • The total points line has gone under in Green Bay’s last seven December games.
  • The underdogs have covered the handicap in four of the last five games between these teams.

Other games

Best bets

LA Chargers -3
1pt 20-23 general

Over 49.5 points in Philadelphia at Dallas
2pts 10-11 general

Preview

The LA Chargers are threatening to put some gloss on an otherwise forgettable season after registering back-to-back wins.

They face a Denver side who have one of the worst points differentials in the league following their crushing 48-19 loss to Buffalo. The Chargers led by 21 points in the reverse fixture before inexplicably collapsing but they can get it right this time.

Picking the total points to go over in an Eagles game might have sounded crazy just weeks ago but rookie quarterback Jalen Hurts has given their offence a spark.

In two starts since Carson Wentz was benched, Philadelphia have put up a combined 50 points and Hurts should enjoy facing a bad Dallas defence, who have helped to push the points line over in seven of the Cowboys’ last nine home games.
