The playoffs are starting to take shape and the first divisional titles of the year could be handed out in Week 14 with both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Green Bay Packers one win away from their coronations.

Divisional matches dominate the landscape in the NFL this week and two of them feature in Chris Rivers’ fourfold, which returns over 8-1 with bet365.

Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers

These two NFC South sides are still in the playoff hunt at 5-7 but one more defeat could bring down the curtain on their postseason ambitions.

The Panthers got the better of the Falcons in the reverse fixture in Week Eight by deploying a very simple gameplan. They ran the ball down the throats of Atlanta, who could do little to stop them piling up 203 yards on the ground.

The Panthers defence is by far the best unit involved in this divisional match up, holding opponents to 21 points per game on average, while they restricted the Falcons to just 13 when they last met.

Carolina’s defence ranks second overall in the league and should stay on top of an Atlanta team that’s been outscored 112-41 since Week Ten.

New Orleans Saints at New York Jets

Five straight defeats have left the Saints on the brink of elimination from playoff contention, making this trip to the Jets a must-win game.

New Orleans have been plagued by injury issues but got a massive boost this week when star running back Alvin Kamara returned to practice. He lifts the Saints offence to another level and they should put up points against the worst defence in the league.

The Jets are dealing with injury issues of their own, leaving them painfully short of weapons on offence, and they will struggle to improve upon their record of going 3-9 against the spread this season.

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Football Team

The Dallas Cowboys thought they had sewn up the NFC East title midway through the season but now find Washington hot on their heels, sitting two games back in the standings.

Washington have won four in a row, covering the spread on each occasion, and they can push a Cowboys side that is 2-3 over the last five weeks hard.

Washington brushed the Cowboys aside in both meetings last year and have a strong record against divisional rivals, going 5-2 in the last seven.

Their run-heavy approach could cause problems for a Dallas team who rank 19th against the run, while Washington’s defence has proven a tough nut to crack, giving up 21 points or fewer and less than 300 yards in four of the last five.

San Francisco 49ers at Cincinnati Bengals

These two playoff hopefuls suffered painful losses last Sunday but the 49ers should be able to bounce back.

San Francisco hope to have Deebo Samuel back, while George Kittle enters this match-up fresh from his best performance of the season. The 49ers have been strong on the road this year, winning five of the last seven away games.

The Bengals have been left counting the costs of their loss to the Chargers with quarterback Joe Burrow suffering a finger injury, while key offensive pieces Tee Higgins and Joe Mixon have been forced to miss practice this week.

Cincinnati have lost three of the last four at home and they don’t measure up to the 49ers statistically - San Francisco having an offence and defence ranked in the top ten of DVOA.
