Free American football tips, best bets and analysis for Week 13 of the 2021 NFL season.

There’s just six weeks to go in the NFL regular season and like a faulty set of Christmas illuminations, the lights are starting to go out one by one for some teams' playoff prospects.

Looking to identify those capable of keeping the lights on for at least one more week is Chris Rivers, who returns with another NFL accumulator. This week’s offering pays out at over 8-1 with bet365.

Atlanta Falcons +12 v Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Cincinnati Bengals -3 v Los Angeles Chargers
Miami Dolphins -3 v New York Giants
Philadelphia Eagles -6 v New York Jets

Best must be placed by 6pm

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons kept their playoff hopes alive by brushing aside the Jaguars in Week 12 so have plenty to play for when they play host to their divisional rivals. The home team are 7-2 against the spread in the last night meetings between the NFC South adversaries and there’s enough weapons on this Falcons team to hurt the Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay picked up a big win against the Indianapolis Colts last time out, covering the spread on the road for the first time this season. Their patchy away record of 3-3, coupled with the Bucs going 1-4 against the spread in their last five games after scoring 30 or more points, gives weight to the belief Atlanta can cover the second-biggest handicap of the week in the NFL.

Los Angles Chargers at Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals have won back-to-back games to reignite their playoff push, embarrassing divisional rivals Pittsburgh in Week 12. Cincinnati’s offensive is back to its explosive best and when they get going, they are dominating teams with an average margin of victory of 24.3 points in their last four wins.

With a strong crop of wide receivers and running back Joe Mixon in great form, they look a matchup nightmare for a Chargers team suffering a mid-season wobble.

The Bolts were brushed aside by the Broncos last week and have now given up at least 24 points in seven successive games.

LA are also struggling to run the ball, boasting the lowest away rushing average in the league, and that inability to move the chains on the ground will make life tough in Cincinnati if wet and windy weather forecasts prove accurate.

New York Giants at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have won four in a row to force their way into the playoff picture and can keep up the pressure by seeing off the injury-hit Giants in Florida.

Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was excellent in November, boasting the best pass completion percentage in the league, while the defence is showing the kind of form that powered the Fins towards the playoffs last season, allowing 17 points or fewer in four straight games.

Miami have covered the spread in each of their last four games and face a Giants team that’s likely to be missing quarterback Daniel Jones due to a neck injury. Big Blue beat the Eagles last week but haven't won back-to-back games all season and look vulnerable.

Philadelphia Eagles at New York Jets

The Eagles are heading back to the scene of the crime having been beaten up by New York’s other team at MetLife Stadium in Week 12.

Philadelphia posted a season-low seven points against the Giants but were averaging 34.5 points per game in their four outings prior to that loss and can get back on track against the Jets, who have never beaten the Eagles in 11 previous attempts.

The rushing attack will be the key to victory for the Eagles, who have the top-rated ground game in the NFL.

The Jets have struggled to stop the run all year, while they are prone to a let down following last week’s win in Houston, going 2-5 against the spread in the last seven games after a victory.
