Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans
Sunday 6pm
The Titans will be glad to see the 1-8 Texans arriving in Nashville after enduring a gruelling run of five straight games against teams who made the playoffs last term.
Tennessee remarkably won all five of those engagements to stay top of the AFC with their defence hauling them over the line in the last two of those matches against the Saints and Rams.
The Titans are still finding their offensive identity after losing Derrick Henry to injury, and are going through some growing pains which has seen them outperformed by over 100 yards in their last two matches.
They are now without Julio Jones too after he went on the injury reserve list and won’t find life easy against a Texans defence who are ranked 17th in DVOA.
Houston’s offence has been wretched for much of the season, scoring a grand total of 17 points in their last four road games, while they are averaging just 14.2 points per game overall - the worst in the league.
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets
Sunday 6pm
Jaylen Waddle might not make as many headlines as some of his fellow rookie wide receivers, but he’s still having a solid first season in Miami.
The Alabama graduate leads all rookies with 60 receptions this year and should add to that haul against a pitiful Jets defence.
The Dolphins offence doesn’t have many pass-catching options so competition for targets is limited which has allowed Waddle to rack up at least four receptions in eight of Miami’s ten games this year.
The 22-year-old can find it hard to get separation against better defences but has torched several below-par secondaries this year, a category the Jets certainly fit into.
New York are currently giving up nearly 300 passing yards per game and there should be plenty of options for Waddle to get open.
Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings
Sunday 6pm
AJ Dillon finally has the Packers backfield all to himself after Aaron Jones went down with a knee injury and can show what he’s capable of when Green Bay visit Minnesota.
The Vikings defence ranks 28th against the run, allowing over 130 rushing yards per game on average. Despite having Aaron Rodgers on the team, the Packers have shown a tendency to try and run the ball recently and Dillon should get a heavy workload.
Weighing in at just over 112kg, Dillon is difficult to stop when he gets going and has racked up over 50 yards per game three times in his last five outings, despite splitting carries with Jones. Out on his own, Dillon could produce a breakout performance.
Cincinnati Bengals at Las Vegas Raiders
9.05pm Sunday
Rookie Ja’Marr Chase has stolen the spotlight when it comes to the Bengals’ explosive offence this season thanks to his impressive hauls of seven touchdowns.
Chase’s efforts have overshadowed the contribution of Joe Mixon, who garners far less attention but has the same number of scores as his teammate.
Mixon has led Cincinnati in redzone targets in the last two games and should like his chances of getting in the endzone for the seventh game in a row.
The Raiders have allowed 10 touchdowns to running backs this season and enter this game in bad shape after being blown away by the Kansas City Chiefs last week.
