New York Jets at New England Patriots

This has been as one-sided a divisional rivalry as you can get in the NFL with the New England Patriots winning the last 13 matches against their AFC East adversaries from New York.

The Pats' most recent victory came in Week Eight of this season when they beat the Jets 22-17, covering the handicap as three-point favourites. They have been handed the same mark for Sunday’s rematch, an odd decision by the books given New England’s record and home advantage.

The Jets have knocked off the Buffalo Bills since losing to New England but it feels like too much emphasis is being placed on that result.

Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has struggled mightily in his three career starts against the Patriots, who can improve on their 9-4 record against the spread in those 13 straight wins over New York.

Washington Commanders at Houston Texans

Washington stunned the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night as double-digit underdogs but they may struggle to follow that surprise success against the lowly Houston Texans.

Houston sit at 1-7-1 after four straight defeats, leaving them in pole position to have the number-one pick in next year’s NFL Draft.

Despite the lowly record, the Texans have shown plenty of fighting spirit, going 4-4-1 against the spread. They failed to convert several promising opportunities in last week’s loss to the New York Giants and it would be unwise for Washington to underestimate them.

The Commanders’ offence has flattered to deceive at times, scoring less than 17 points in three of their five away games, and a similar showing could produce a tight contest.

Cleveland Browns at Buffalo Bills

A large deluge of snow in the Buffalo area means this game will be played in perfect scoring conditions indoors at the Detroit Lions’ Ford Field home, and that’s bad news for the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns were just shredded by the Miami Dolphins, giving up 39 points and 491 yards against the league’s number-one-ranked offence.

Life doesn’t get any easier against the league’s third-best offence and a Bills backlash is expected after they were upset at home by the Minnesota Vikings in Week Ten.

Buffalo are blessed with a bevy of attacking options to go at Cleveland’s below-par pass defence but wide receiver Gabriel Davis catches the eye as a touchdown threat.

Davis has grabbed five touchdowns in eight games this season and could see an already healthy workload increase this week with fellow receiver Isiah McKenzie laid low by illness in the build-up.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh started the week as five-point underdogs but a steady stream of bets has seen that number drop significantly to the point that the Cincinnati Bengals now look the best play for this AFC North showdown.

The Bengals’ offence clicked into gear before their bye week when hanging 42 points on the Carolina Panthers and they will be out for revenge having been stunned at home by the Steelers in the reverse fixture.

Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow threw four interceptions and lost a fumble in that first meeting, while Pittsburgh also blocked a field goal in one of the more fortuitous wins of the season.

Burrow is far sharper now and his 14-7 record against the spread on the road gives confidence that he can overcome a Steelers side who look good on defence but continue to have major issues on offence.
