Back-to-back losses have left the Philadelphia Eagles looking over their shoulder in the race to be the number one seed in the NFC and a win over their fierce rivals from New York is a must if they are to secure home advantage and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Philly have lost both their games since quarterback Jalen Hurts went down with a shoulder injury, allowing the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys to overtake them in the conference standings.

The good news for the Eagles is Hurts may be fit for the regular-season finale, while there’s even better news in the form of the Giants potentially resting most of their starters.

Although there’s been no official word from coach Brian Daboll, it’s understood Big Blue’s big names will be benched for the trip to Philadelphia with the Giants having already secured a playoff berth and unable to improve on their seeding of sixth.

The handicap has ballooned to 14 points in light of New York’s plans, although that may not prove too far off the mark if the Eagles hit the offensive heights they reached in the reverse fixture when winning by 26.

However, with Hurts’ status unconfirmed and the number of Giants being rested unclear, the safer play could be to take the under, which has copped regularly in this rivalry.

Nine of the last 12 meetings between the pair in Philadelphia have gone under the points total and the Giants have seen the under land consistently in their games, dating back to the start of the 2020 season.
