The NFL Week 13 card features some tremendous match-ups, but in this case the league did not save the best for last.

The Saints and Buccaneers both begin December with losing records, with New Orleans at 4-8 and Tom Brady's Bucs at a disappointing 5-6.

However, the overall weakness of the AFC South means that the Bucs come into the game as the divisional leaders, and the Saints are somehow not out of the divisional race despite their issues.

The Buccaneers have lost four of their last six games and exhibited some most un-Brady like behaviour last week when allowing the Browns to take their game to overtime with a 12-yard touchdown on fourth down before losing 23-17.

They had won their previous two games, however, against the Rams (the reigning Super Bowl champions who have fallen off a cliff this year) and Seahawks, and should have enough about them to cover a reasonable handicap in this home contest.

The Saints failed to even score a point in last week's 13-0 loss to the 49ers. They have lost four of their five road games this season and failed to cover the handicap in any of them.

Their four wins have been distributed thinly throughout the season with at least two losses following each one and, other than the promise of rookie wide receiver Chris Olave, there's not a lot to like about them at present.

The Buccaneers won 20-10 when the teams met in Week Two. That game featured a flare-up that led to New Orleans' Marshon Lattimore and Mike Evans of Tampa Bay being ejected, so the bad blood could at least add some interest to what might not be the most appealing Monday night game of the season.
