The Arizona Cardinals have struggled at home this season but their chances of beating the Patriots at State Farm Stadium on Monday night might be better than the oddsmakers think,

The Cardinals have managed to lose six of their seven home games this year, despite winning three times on the road, but things aren't quite as bad as that sounds as they have had some illustrious visitors. Their home losses included games against top teams such as the Chiefs, Eagles, 49ers and Chargers, and this is arguably a more winnable contest than any of those.

NFL fans over the last couple of decades will not be accustomed to seeing the Patriots at the bottom of the AFC East division, but again, it's not quite as alarming as it seems as they have a 6-6 record. Even so, New England have lost back-to-back games against the Vikings and Bills, and their only notable wins this year have been over the Jets. There's an argument that the Cardinals are not much better than some of the lesser teams the Patriots have had success against this year, but this is not an ideal tactical matchup for Bill Belichick's team either.

The Patriots have had trouble coping with mobile QBs Justin Fields, Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen this season, losing their games against the Bears, Ravens and Bills, and quarterbacks don't come much more mobile than Arizona's Kyler Murray, who seemed healthy enough on his return from a hamstring injury last week.

The Patriots are also dealing with some key offensive injuries, with leading receiver Jakobi Meyers ruled out and running back Damien Harris rated doubtful to play, so backing the Cardinals getting a small handicap start could be the best move.
