Game preview

Two of the hottest running backs in the NFL go head to head as Dalvin Cook’s Minnesota take on Dallas and Ezekiel Elliott, and both should be in hot form.

The Cowboys boast the top-rated offence in the league in terms of average yards per game and have had no trouble converting that into points. They have scored 37 in each of their last two, with Elliott racking up more than 100 yards in their last three games.

However their defence has let them down on occasions, highlighted by Aaron Jones’ four-touchdown game in their loss to Green Bay, while the Jets scored a quarter of their total points for the season in their shock win over Dallas.

Minnesota have been no strangers to the end zone either, recording a total of 93 points in their last three road games.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins was struggling to create chemistry with his offence early in the season but is now firing on all cylinders with 11 touchdown passes in his last four outings.

Given the tools at the disposal of these sides it could easily turn into a shootout, particularly given both teams will be looking to keep their feet on the gas in their hunt for playoff places.
