There's an all-AFC East battle at the MetLife Stadium on Sunday evening as the Dolphins take on the Jets - and hosts New York could be a spot of handicap value.

The Dolphins are still reeling after quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was stretchered off with head and neck injuries during last week's loss to the Bengals, meaning reserve QB Teddy Bridgewater will be calling the shots for Miami on Sunday.

Bridgewater is revered among the betting community for his record against the spread as a starter, which stands at 43-21. However, that significantly reduces to 16-11 when his side start as favourites, and Miami have doubts over a number of other key players as well as Tagovailoa.

Star receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle and cornerback Xavien Howard all missed practice time this week and are unlikely to be fully fit if they do feature.

As for the Jets, offensive tackle Duane Brown is likely to be back after injury and they have already reaped the benefits of quarterback Zach Wilson returning to action in last week’s 24-20 win over the Steelers.

Wilson looked shaky in the early stages but marshalled two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter, which could prove to be a turning point in his and the Jets' season.

The Jets' defence has been sturdy so far and certainly has the tools to frustrate a Dolphins team who were lacklustre with the ball after Bridgewater had replaced Tagovailoa in last week's loss to Cincinnati.

New York should keep things close, so back the hosts with a start of just over one field goal on the handicap.
