The NFL returns to London for the second straight week as the Miami Dolphins take on the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

London has been the unofficial second home for the Jaguars, who have played a game in the English capital in every season since 2013, apart from last year when the pandemic scuppered any potential plans.

Jacksonville should have much more of a home-field advantage than the Falcons had last week, but don’t expect that to help them end their 20-game losing streak dating back to Week Two of last season.

Miami have been in a tailspin since their opening-week win over New England, but the Dolphins could be boosted by the return of starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa after he was designated to return from injured reserve.

Tagovailoa will be without injured wide receiver and key target DeVante Parker but first-round draft pick Jaylen Waddle has shown glimpses of his promise this year. They should be able to conjure some magic against a Jaguars defence that has allowed 9.5 passing yards per attempt and 73.5 per cent of pass attempts to be completed.

As for Jacksonville’s offence, their success will largely depend on running back James Robinson, who posted a huge 149 rushing yards and a touchdown in last week’s defeat to the Titans.

The Dolphins, meanwhile, have already allowed three players to record more than 100 rushing yards against them this season, so shoring up their run defence will be crucial.

It’s not yet time to give up on the Dolphins and this week presents a nice opportunity for them to cover the handicap against a Jaguars team who have a lot of issues both on and off the field.
