The Indianapolis Colts have started to turn the corner after a disappointing start to the season and look the pick for their trip to face the underwhelming San Franciso 49ers.

Despite their health issues, Indianapolis dismantled the Houston Texans in Week Six, and the week before they should have picked up a road upset over the Baltimore Ravens before they melted down and lost in overtime.

Quarterback Carson Wentz has also quietly been playing well and averaged 11.2 yards per attempt last week, but it’s been a different story for his opposite number Jimmy Garopolo.

This is set to be the 49ers QB’s first game back from a calf injury but it’s fair to say he wasn’t hugely convincing before that layoff.

The 49ers are also still without George Kittle, and the only two teams they’ve beat this season are the Lions and Eagles. They didn’t play particularly well in their win over Philly, and very nearly blew a massive lead to lowly Detroit.

The hosts are on a run of three consecutive defeats while the Colts have won two in the same timeframe and their one defeat came in overtime against Baltimore.

Indianapolis have also won two of the last three meetings between the teams and with a small start they are a worthwhile bet.

The points line is set at 43 which looks on the low side for these teams but a forecast for stormy weather doesn’t bode well and it would be wise to wait and check the conditions.
