Game preview
The Cowboys and Giants clash in the NFC East on Monday night and there could be plenty of points on the MetLife Stadium scoreboard.
New York’s lowly 2-6 record is largely down to issues on defence, where they had conceded the fourth-most points in the league heading into Week Nine and given up at least 27 in their last four games.
That plays firmly into the hands of Dallas, whose offence has averaged the most yards this season and has been as potent on the run as they have been with the pass.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott has either registered over 100 rushing yards or found the end zone in every game this season, while quarterback Dak Prescott will be eager to replicate his performance of 405 passing yards and four touchdowns when these teams met on the opening weekend.
However, the Giants have been proficient scorers themselves, putting up 21 points or more in four of their six games this season.
Rookie quarterback Daniel Jones continues to highlight why he was the number-six pick in the draft after throwing four touchdowns against Detroit last week and, with star running back Saquon Barkley back to his best, they should have no trouble moving the chains themselves.
Despite the difference in records for both teams this one could be a lot closer than expected and with the offences in hot form this could easily turn into a high-scoring shootout.
