This week's Thursday Night Football matchup sees a battle between two NFC playoff hopefuls looking for a change in fortune as the Dallas Cowboys take on the New Orleans Saints.

After a hot start, Dallas have now lost three of their last four games, while the Saints haven’t won at all during that period. Both teams have been hampered by injuries of late, but the Cowboys look better positioned to come out on top.

For starters, Dallas should be getting CeeDee Lamb back in the line-up while Amari Cooper could also return. Those two outside threats would be a big boost to a Dallas offence that has put up 33 points or more in two of its last three games.

QB Dak Prescott has been red-hot this year and should be able to take advantage of a Saints defence that has allowed 7.8 passing yards per attempt this season, the fifth-most in the league.

After not playing in last week's blowout defeat to the Bills, Taysom Hill is likely to line up at quarterback for the Saints and he should be motivated to put on a show after securing a mega contract extension.

However, standing in his way is a Cowboys defence that has been much better this year under Dan Quinn, boasting 15 interceptions, the third-most in the league. Last week they struggled against the Raiders but this Dallas unit has been rigid for most of the season.

Alvin Kamara, Mark Ingram and Ryan Ramczyk are on course to return for New Orleans, but with so much change to the Saints' offence, they may need time to gel. By the time they do, Dallas could already be out of sight.
