The Green Bay Packers became the first team in the NFL to win their division this season with Sunday’s victory in Baltimore, but there is still work to do to secure the NFC top seeding for the playoffs.

The 11-3 Packers are being chased by four teams with 10-4 records but they should take another step towards their goal by beating the Browns on Christmas Day.

The Browns almost pulled off a pre-Christmas miracle on Monday when, missing 13 of 22 starters and down to their third-string quarterback due to a Covid outbreak, they led the Raiders 16-14 in the fourth quarter only to lose to a last-play field goal. Cleveland should be able to field a stronger line-up this time, but will still be a long way from full strength.

The Packers allowed a 14-point lead to dwindle to just one in Sunday’s win over Baltimore, where they failed to cover the handicap, but they are 11-3 against the spread this season, which is tied for the best record in the league.

They are the league’s only unbeaten team at home, and have covered the handicap in every game at Lambeau Field. Five of their six home wins have come by ten or more points.

The Browns’ game against the Raiders was delayed by two days due to their issues, which now means they have had less time to prepare for this tough contest.

Over their last three games, the Packers have scored 36, 45, and 31 points with QB Aaron Rodgers throwing for 307, 341, and 268 yards, with nine touchdowns and no interceptions.

Even if the Browns didn’t have their current issues, it would be hard to see their offence being able to keep pace with the Packers.
