Game preview

Having been two of the NFC's best teams last year, the Rams and Bears are already facing a tall order to reach the playoffs this season.

Chicago were renowned for their vicious defence but that strength appears to have disappeared at times and their flailing offence has been unable to pick up the slack. In terms of yardage gained they have the third-worst passing offence and fifth-worst rushing in the league.

That is unlikely to get any better when they take on a Rams team who have been rigid enough despite their 5-4 record.

They have allowed just 37 points in their last three games, and the addition of top cornerback Jalen Ramsey to their secondary is likely to make it another tough game for Bears quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Running the ball could also prove difficult against the league's fifth-best rushing defence.

The LA side meanwhile still boast plenty of talent on offence and running back Todd Gurley is slowly starting to look like his old self. Although wide receiver Cooper Kupp was pacified last week, he also poses a major threat.

While things could be close for a while, the Rams look in much better shape on both sides of the ball and can secure another much-needed victory.
