Match preview

The NFL finally returns to London as the New York Jets face the Atlanta Falcons at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

After an awful start to the season, the Jets offense finally appears to have shown up and they looked strong in their overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans last week. If they can replicate that effort, then they should at least be able to keep within three points of the Falcons.

Jets rookie quarterback Zach Wilson made some tremendous throws in that win over Tennessee and looks to be creating a great rapport with receiver Corey Davis.

Those two should be able to get something going against a Falcons defence that has allowed 11 passing touchdowns (tied-most in the NFL this season) and made no interceptions.

The Falcons offence looked good against Washington with Matt Ryan putting in a strong performance (283 passing yards, four TDs) alongside the red-hot Cordarelle Patterson (82 receiving yards, three TDs), but they have been very inconsistent so far and it is hard to determine which version of the Falcons will travel over from Atlanta.

The Jets defence has allowed the fewest passing touchdowns in the league, conceding just two, and this unit looks to be improving, having sacked Tians quarterback Ryan Tannehill seven times last week.

This match-up has the potential to go either way but it seems like the Jets have more upside heading into the game, and getting the three points with them provides some nice field-goal insurance.

Key stat

The Falcons have allowed 11 passing touchdowns this season.
