Speedway German GP: Betting preview, odds & where to watch on TV
In-form Artem Laguta ready to draw on fond memories in Teterow
BT Sport 3, 6pm Saturday
Artem Laguta has happy memories of Teterow, the stage for round seven of the world championship, and can use those to inspire him to a podium finish on Saturday.
The in-form Russian is in sparkling nick heading to Germany after winning four of his five heats at the Scandinavian Grand Prix two weeks ago. He went on to score 14 points from five rides for club side Grudziadz in the Polish League.
So the form stacks up and he also must have positive vibes about returning to a track where he scored 16 points out of a possible 18 in last year’s Speedway of Nations.
There’s not a lot of pressure on Laguta – he’s not in the hunt for the world title – and he is riding well because of that.
Laguta is a big price and preferred to the favourites, all of whom have claims.
Leon Madsen, the championship leader, is the absolute model of consistency having made five of the six finals, while Bartosz Zmarzlik has won two of them.
It will also be interesting to see how Tai Woffinden is as he continues to rediscover his competitive spirit after breaking his back earlier this summer.
Another dark horse to consider is Jason Doyle, who has made the podium in each of the last three grands prix at Teterow.
Recommendation
A Laguta
