Rossi looks value to star at Sepang
MotoGP set to serve up another thriller
Malaysian Grand Prix
BT Sport 2, 7am Sunday
MotoGP has really been delivering in the entertainment stakes recently and it's 7-4 the field for what promises to be another cracker in Malaysia.
Marc Marquez will win the world championship if he finishes in the first two at Sepang, but he has made life hard for himself by qualifying seventh after a fall.
Marquez's Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa has had a year to forget, but snatched a surprise pole position ahead of Racing Post Sport's 14-1 each-way tip Johann Zarco. Championship challenger Andrea Dovizioso completes the front row with just 0.024 seconds covering the three.
Dovi is favourite to take a win which could well force a championship decider in Valencia in two weeks.
No-one other than Marquez has won from pole in the last 11 races, but Pedrosa has won three times at Sepang and is rated second favourite.
Marquez clearly has more to offer and is tempting at 5-1 but in an open race, tyre choice could play a part and we won't know that until the race starts.
Valentino Rossi has made a remarkable recovery from a broken leg and was an excellent second in Australia last week.
The Doctor was fastest in Saturday morning's practice and topped the qualifying times until the dying moments. He could prove a value pick.
Recommendation
V Rossi
