Pedrosa primed to grab pole for decisive race
Valencia GP qualifying
BT Sport 2, 1.10pm Saturday
The MotoGP season has boiled down to a final-race decider in Valencia.
Andrea Dovizioso needs to win the race with defending champion Marc Marquez outside the top 15, so it's not exactly a nail-biter, but stranger things have happened.
The early signs are good for Dovi fulfilling his part of the bargain. Ducati recorded a dominant 1-2 finish in the rain in Malaysia last time and were first and third-fastest in Friday's practices.
Jorge Lorenzo, the winner in Valencia in three of the last four years when he rode for Yamaha, headed the times with Dovi third. The Ducatis have tended to perform better in the races than over one lap this season though.
Dani Pedrosa loves racing in his home country and has won six times in Valencia, three of them in the premier class.
The Honda rider started from pole in Catalunya and Jerez this season and set the fastest race lap in Aragon, where he finished second.
He is worth backing to keep up his excellent record in Spain.
