Martin Vaculik a big price to get back to winning ways in Germany
Slovak star is back to his best after broken ankle
German Grand Prix
BT Sport 3, 6pm Saturday
It was unlucky 13 for Martin Vaculik in Slovenia two weeks ago but the Slovak star can respond in style in Teterow.
Vaculik missed out on the semis by a solitary point in Krsko, undone in Heat 13 when he hit a rut and had to retire.
But his speed continues to be impressive and he looks a big price at 16-1 in Germany.
Vaculik’s GP hopes were dashed by a broken ankle last winter which saw him miss the first two races but now he’s back to his best. Only two riders have scored more points over the last three races and one of them – Patryk Dudek – is missing this event because of a broken arm.
Tai Woffinden’s lead at the top of the rankings has been cut to nine points following his disastrous five-point haul in Slovenia where gating problems continued to be an issue for him.
With two rounds left the Englishman should have enough points in hand to be able to hang on for a third world title but on current form he is be a hard man to back.
Recommendation
M Vaculik
