Latest F1 betting news after Lewis Hamilton overhauls Max Verstappen in Hungary
Mercedes man is 62 points clear after eighth win of the season
Lewis Hamilton is 1-20 to win a sixth world title this season after scoring a superb eighth victory of the season in the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Hamilton started third on the grid but the race soon developed into a duel between the British star and pole-sitter Max Verstappen after his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas hit early trouble.
The pair were together at the front midway through the race and, after Verstappen had fought off a challenge from Hamilton, Mercedes gambled on making a second pit-stop.
Verstappen went long odds-on early in the final stint but his advantage rapidly diminished as Hamilton piled on the pace on his fresher and softer tyres and overhauled the Dutchman with four laps to go.
Verstappen is 14-1 second favourite for the championship heading into the summer break. Bet365 make Verstappen 1-2 and Sebastian Vettel 13-8 in their without Mercedes market.
Hamilton is 13-8 favourite for the Belgian Grand Prix on September 1, with Charles Leclerc and Vettel each 5-2, Bottas 5-1 and Verstappen 15-2.
