F1 French Grand Prix practice betting preview, tip & TV time
Valtteri Bottas could edge out Mercedes teammate Hamilton
Practice one Sky Sports F1, 10am Friday
Practice two Sky Sports F1, 2pm Friday
Last year’s winner Lewis Hamilton heads most markets for this weekend’s French Grand Prix action, including the opening practice session.
Ferrari once again let a victory slip through their fingers in Canada last week after Sebastian Vettel’s five-second penalty cost him the win even though he crossed the line first.
The Italian team kept their powder dry in first practice in Montreal and they may opt for a similar approach at Paul Ricard.
Hamilton looks a worthy favourite to set the early pace, but his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas could be a better value bet at a track which should suit their car more than some others.
Honda have brought improved engines for Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly and the Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat, but that means that Kvyat will incur a grid penalty.
Recommendation
V Bottas fastest in P1
