It's 9-4 the field in the battle for pole position for tomorrow's Brazilian Grand Prix, but five drivers are priced at 11-2 or shorter in the qualifying market.
That's not a great surprise after the closest qualifying session in recent history in Austin last time.
Just 0.108 seconds covered the top four qualifiers, who represented three different teams, and with yesterday's practice sessions having given few firm clues, the bookmakers' caution is understandable.
A key player will be Charles Leclerc, who faces a ten-place grid drop from wherever he qualifies.
Will the Ferrari driver try to top the session and start 11th, or will he concentrate on race pace and settle for starting near the back?
The best strategy is probably for Ferrari to get Leclerc into Q3, and then use him to give Sebastian Vettel a slipstream down the long start-finish straight.
Newly-crowned six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton looks the wrong favourite for pole.
His teammate Valtteri Bottas topped qualifying in Austin, but the Mercedes hasn't looked a match for Ferrari in qualifying trim since the summer break, and Hamilton is without a pole in nine races.
Max Verstappen is respected. Red Bull are getting their act together in qualifying and Verstappen was in a class of his own around Interlagos last year, even if he threw away the win after needlessly tangling with a backmarker.
However, at the prices, Vettel is preferred.
