Race preview

Red Bull's Max Verstappen has found his groove over recent weeks, winning in Azerbaijan and Canada before limping home seventh at the British GP after sustaining floor damage.

He starts the Austrian Grand Prix on pole after winning Saturday's sprint race, holding off an early challenge from Ferrari duo Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to coast home.

Verstappen has won the last three editions of the Austrian Grand Prix - Red Bull's home race - so it's no surprise to see him rated as the heavy 1-2 favourite to claim another chequered flag.

Ferrari will hope they can break his monopoly in Austria, though, and, with Leclerc and Sainz starting second and third, there's plenty of reason for the Italian team to be positive.

The Scuderia pair enjoyed their own battle in the sprint race but team orders will probably mean they play a safer game on Sunday as they look to tussle with Verstappen.

Last weekend's British Grand Prix could offer hints as to how Sunday's showpiece will play out, with plenty of sweeping fast corners to attack.

Ferrari have already shown this season that they are well suited to this type of track, having seen Sainz win at Silverstone, and he could be one to side with at 11-1 as he seeks a second victory of the season.

Sainz has never finished better than fifth in Austria but he earned that result last term when climbing up from tenth, suggesting he has the tools to be in the mix.

If Ferrari struggle to keep a lid on the battle between their two drivers, Mercedes' George Russell, who starts fourth, could profit.

The Brit has three podium finishes to his name this term and offers plenty of value at 2-1 to add another to his tally.
