Experienced Latvala may be equal to Turkish test

Ott Tanak showed his versatility by winning on the fast gravel forest roads of Finland and the rough asphalt of Germany and the Estonian is favourite to make it a hat-trick with victory in Turkey this week.

Turkey has not hosted a WRC event since 2010 and the roads that form this year's test are new to everyone.

Championship protagonists Thierry Neuville and Sebastien Ogier are struggling for consistency and Toyota driver Tanak is rated a 7-2 chance for a surprise title having closed to within 36 points of Neuville's lead.

Tanak's teammate Jari-Matti Latvala could be a good bet to win in Turkey.

It hasn't been a vintage season for the veteran Finn, but his experience will stand him in good stead and he was the last winner of the Acropolis Rally in Greece over a route similar to this week's.

Latvala finished a fine third in Finland and was fighting for second place in Germany last time when he suffered a transmission failure.
