This season's four MotoGP races have seen four different riders on pole and there could be a fifth name on the list at Le Mans.

Johann Zarco, Jack Miller, Marc Marquez and Cal Crutchlow have all started from the front and a buoyant Andrea Dovizioso could be next in line.

The Italian signed a new contract with Ducati this week and mixed it at the front with world championship leader Marc Marquez in both of Friday's practice sessions.

The Spaniard was narrowly in front in the opener with Dovizioso ahead by a slightly wider margin in the afternoon.

The different in their prices is much bigger though with Marquez clear favourite and Dovizioso one of three riders priced between 7-2 and 5-1 by bet365.

Marquez has never quite taken Le Mans to his heart with only one win at the track despite being a perennial frontrunner in recent seasons. Jorge Lorenzo and Maverick Vinales have converted pole into race victory there in the last two seasons.

Dovizioso had led the championship before a crash with Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo in Spain ended all of their races and handed the lead in the standings to Marquez.

Zarco is an interesting contender. The Frenchman will be keen to impress in his home race and was up with the pace in practice. Vinales, Miller and Valentino Rossi were others to show good early speed.

Another frantic weekend of action is in the offing but Dovizioso looks the value for qualifying.
