Czech Speedway Grand Prix betting preview, tip & TV details
Tai Woffinden absence points to a punt on Prague-lover Patryk Dudek
BT Sport 2, 5.45pm Saturday
Betting on the Speedway Grand Prix this season has been turned upside down following the injury to triple world champion Tai Woffinden which has ruled him out of Saturday's Czech Grand Prix.
Woffy broke a bone in his spine, a collarbone and suffered a burst lung when riding in Poland last week. That would rule out most mortals for a while though, unsurprisingly given how gung-ho these riders are, the pre-season 9-4 favourite has been counted out only for the next two events.
He has been shunted out to 50-1 in a few places, though he could be double those odds given the ground he will have to make up even if he does return to the shale for the final six races.
The Briton already trails Bartosz Zmarzlik and Patryk Dudek by 13 points after two rounds and the Polish pair are looking stronger than ever.
Dudek gets the nod in Prague. The Pole went into the last meeting in Slovenia under an injury cloud yet still managed to ride through the pain barrier and chalk up 12 points.
He loves the Marketa Stadium, where he made the final in his first visit in 2017 and finished second last year.
Recommendation
P Dudek
