Love Island Daily: show fallout, market moves and betting odds

All the latest talking points from the villa

What's happening?

Sparks flew in a show which featured a controversial “snog, marry, pie” challenge, Curtis Pritchard struggling to choose between fiery Maura Higgins and new girl Francesca Allen and a war of words between Anton Danyluk and Belle Hassan.

Anton had previously given a Spanish shopkeeper his phone number when sent on a shopping task with Tommy Fury and Jordan Hames but it was events inside the villa which caused friction between the Scot and his couple partner.

Having opted to kiss Anna Vakili rather than his partner in the challenge, Anton was on the end of an explosive rant from Belle and the pair’s journey seemed to have reached its end.

But there was still time for more drama as presenter Caroline Flack rolled up in a pristine Porsche to deliver the news that the public had been voting for their favourite couples.

Michael Griffiths and Joanna Chimonides were joined by Anna and Jordan in the bottom two and their fate was decided by their fellow islanders. They chose to save Anna and Jordan but one final twist revealed one of Michael or Joanna would remain on the island, with the other forced to leave.

Betting moves

Anton and Belle are understandably on the drift and are now out to 16-1 to win the £50,000 after their first major bump in the road.

Ovie Soko and Amber Gill, locked in a friendship couple, have now emerged as second favourites at 6-1 and leaders in the without Tommy and Molly market at 6-4.

With many expecting Michael to be the Islander who remains, he and former couple partner Amber have been cut to 14-1.

What might happen next?

Many expect Joanna to leave the Island in Monday’s episode and bookmakers concur, pushing her out to 66-1 to be top female.

That could open the door to the rekindling of Michael and Amber’s couple partnership but the Liverpudlian could be wary of his reputation should he jump ship too soon after Joanna’s potential departure.

All of Curtis’s actions are pointing towards a preference for Maura over Francesca and with the pair such an integral part of this series, the 5-1 about them finishing second looks tempting.
