Two of the worst-kept secrets of the 2019 Love Island series were revealed in Tuesday night's episode.

Not only did Lucie Donlan's time in Mallorca come to an end as she was dumped from the island with George Rains, but Amy Hart said farewell on her own accord after a tumultuous week.

Amy's exit prompted floods of tears from nearly every islander, not least her former couple partner Curtis Pritchard, with whom she cleared the air and expressed her desire to remain close friends before departing.

In typical Love Island style, though, two new faces were quickly drafted in but only after a ghastly attempt by Marvin Brooks to woo single girl Amber Gill which made viewers want to gouge their eyes out.

Betting moves

The market leaders have changed as frequently as Anton Danyluk has switched beds this series but Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae consolidated their position as 1-5 favourites by confessing their love for one another in the show's latest instalment.

It has long looked like a battle for second, which bookmakers expect Anton and Belle Hassan to secure, with the pair 5-4 favourites in the without Tommy and Molly market.

Curtis and Maura Higgins remain third in the betting at 10-1 and 3-1 to finish best of the rest but look too short given the Irish ring girl opted to send the ballroom dancer home instead of her best friend Lucie in the recent couples vote.

What might happen next

The arrivals of new islanders Chris Taylor and Francesca Allen, who are 22-1 and 20-1 to finish top male and top female respectively, have been drawn out and the preview of Wednesday's episode gave no clues as to how they will fare.

A quick scroll through Twitter suggest Ovie Soko is a fans' favourite, a sentiment enhanced by his emotional reaction to George's departure, and he could go off a lot shorter than 28-1 to be top male should the right girl enter the villa.
