Best Premier League bet
Brighton v Burnley 3pm Saturday
Brighton boss Graham Potter talked up Jakub Moder's goal threat before the Seagulls' trip to Manchester United on Tuesday and the Polish midfielder almost lived up to the hype.
Potter was asked about Moder's long wait for a first Premier League goal after last weekend's 2-0 win at Watford, where the 22-year-old had three of his side's 11 attempts on goal.
He forced David de Gea into an early save at Old Trafford and the in-form United goalkeeper made another brilliant stop to keep out a thumping header from the attacking midfielder.
Moder's fortune in front of goal almost changed when his second-half effort came back off the bar but he is a tempting each-way bet to score first against Burnley on Saturday.
Brighton are odds-on to beat the bottom club so Moder, who notched against Cardiff in the EFL Cup and West Brom in the FA Cup this season, should get more chances to break his Premier League duck.
Best EFL bet
Sunderland v MK Dons 3pm Saturday
Rotherham and Wigan, the top two in League One, meet on Friday night and there is another big clash on Saturday when fourth-placed Sunderland, now managed by Alex Neil, host third-placed MK Dons.
The Black Cats were held to a 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon in Neil's first match in charge last Saturday, when they scored with their only shot on target and had seven players booked.
Sunderland are clear favourites to beat MK Dons but the visitors are well capable of spoiling Neil's Stadium of Light debut, having won seven of their last ten away matches in the league.
The men from Milton Keynes have lost only once in 11 outings since Christmas – a run that includes wins at Lincoln, Portsmouth, Burton and Wycombe – and they restricted in-form Ipswich to two shots on target in last weekend's 0-0 draw.
The Tractor Boys were grateful for some excellent saves from goalkeeper Christian Walton and Sunderland are worth opposing against visitors who have conceded just five goals in ten league matches in 2022.
Best European bet
Bayern Munich v Greuther Furth
Sky Sports Football, 2.30pm Sunday
It is top versus bottom in the Bundesliga on Sunday but Bayern Munich will be taking nothing for granted after their 4-2 defeat at 12-1 outsiders Bochum last weekend.
Greuther Furth are an even bigger price to win at the Allianz Arena but they are capable of taking advantage of any complacency from a Bayern defence who have kept just one clean sheet in five league matches since the winter break.
Bayern needed a late equaliser to avoid a surprise defeat to Salzburg in the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday and both teams have scored in 15 of their 22 league matches, including a 3-1 win over Furth in September's reverse fixture.
That result was part of a brutal start for the promoted club, who took just one point from their first 15 matches up to and including a 7-1 rout by Bayer Leverkusen.
Since then, though, Furth have lost just twice in eight games, scoring in their last four – 2-1 home wins over Mainz and Hertha Berlin, a 2-2 draw at Arminia Bielefeld and a 4-1 loss at Wolfsburg – and they are worth backing to get on the scoresheet against the champions.
Weekend accumulators
Banker
Brighton
The Seagulls' seven-game unbeaten run came to an end at Old Trafford on Tuesday but they have won three of their four games against teams in the bottom three and should be too sharp for Burnley.
Blowout
Coventry
After a series of narrow losses in the Championship, bottom club Barnsley stopped the rot with a 1-0 home win over QPR last weekend and they can avoid defeat at Coventry, who have won only one of their last six at home.
Accumulator
Brighton 7-10, Bolton 5-6, Exeter 8-11, RB Leipzig 6-10. £1 accumulator returns £8.61 with BoyleSports.
Both teams to score
Games at Southampton 7-10, Charlton 4-5, Borussia Dortmund 8-15. £1 treble returns £4.68 with Hills.
