Best Premier League bet

Leicester v Brighton 3pm Saturday

Brighton have scored ten goals in their last three Premier League away matches, won 5-1 at Championship promotion hopefuls Middlesbrough in the FA Cup, and beat Liverpool 3-0 at home last weekend so they should be full of confidence for Saturday's trip to troubled Leicester.

Solly March was the Seagulls' hero against the Reds with a brace early in the second half but there are threats all over the pitch for Brighton and March's fellow winger Kaoru Mitoma should cause Leicester's defence problems.

The Japan international had four attempts at goal against Liverpool, having scored in four of his previous seven club appearances – in the Premier League wins at Everton and Wolves and in both the league and EFL Cup fixtures against Arsenal.

A tight offside decision denied Mitoma a second goal in the league defeat to the table-topping Gunners while he had four of Brighton's seven shots in their Boxing Day win at Southampton and should relish a crack at a Leicester side on a four-match losing streak in the top flight.

Best EFL bet

Bristol Rovers v Wycombe 3pm Saturday

Wycombe came from 1-0 down to beat Bristol Rovers 2-1 in their first League One game after Christmas and they are a tempting price to complete a swift double against the Gas at the Memorial Stadium.

Rovers took the lead inside four minutes in the reverse fixture but Wycombe's defence is not usually so generous, conceding only four goals in nine league matches since a 2-2 draw with Port Vale on November 1.

They have won five of those games, beating third-tier powerhouses Ipswich in December, and they were far from outclassed in 1-0 losses to title contenders Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth.

Bristol Rovers started 2023 with league wins over lowly Cambridge United and Cheltenham before losing 2-0 at Accrington, another team in the bottom half of the table.

Their record against top-eight clubs such as Wycombe is unimpressive, with just one win in eight games, and Joey Barton's men may struggle to improve it this weekend.

Best European bet

Rayo Vallecano v Real Sociedad LaLigaTV, 1pm Saturday

Only Barcelona and Real Madrid are above Real Sociedad in La Liga but La Real face a tricky fixture away to Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.

The hosts have had some memorable results this season, beating defending champions Real Madrid 3-2 and thrashing Cadiz 5-1, but two of their eight home matches ended goalless and they also drew 0-0 at Camp Nou in their season opener.

A low-scoring contest looks likely against Real Sociedad, who have kept five clean sheets in six league and cup matches since the World Cup.

Four of their 11 wins in the league were by a 1-0 scoreline, including away victories at Cadiz and bottom club Elche, and backing one or both teams not to score, a winning bet in five of their six Europa League group matches this term, could prove profitable.

Weekend accumulators

Banker
Brighton
After thumping Liverpool 3-0 last weekend and scoring 12 goals in their last three away matches, the Seagulls should be far too slick for a Leicester side who have not got going since the World Cup.

Blowout
Derby
Paul Warne's Rams are flying in League One but so too are visitors Bolton, who have kept seven clean sheets in their last eight games including a 0-0 draw at home to Derby on December 27.

Accumulator
Brighton 21-20, Plymouth 11-20, Sheffield Wednesday 4-9, Napoli 2-7. £1 accumulator returns £5.90 with Hills.

Both teams to score
Games at Southampton 3-4, Sunderland 4-5, Espanyol 10-11. £1 treble returns £6.02 with bet365.
