Best Premier League bet
Wolves v Brighton 3pm Saturday
Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi will have enjoyed last weekend's 4-1 home win over Chelsea, coached by former Seagulls boss Graham Potter, and the Italian's charges should kick on with a Premier League victory at Wolves.
Potter claimed some impressive away scalps towards the end of his time at Brighton, winning at Arsenal and Tottenham late last season and starting 2022-23 with victories at Manchester United and West Ham.
The Seagulls, who also drew 3-3 with Liverpool at Anfield on October 1, thumped Wolves 3-0 at Molineux at the end of April and they can frank that form on Saturday.
Brighton finished above Wolves only on goal difference last term but they are already eight points better off than Wanderers this season, with a game in hand, and the managerless hosts were thrashed 4-0 by fellow strugglers Leicester in their last home fixture.
Best FA Cup bet
Barrow v Mansfield 3pm Saturday
Bookmakers rated Barrow clear favourites for relegation at the start of the League Two season but the Cumbrians are fourth in the table after 17 matches and go into Saturday's FA Cup first-round tie at home to Mansfield in great spirits.
The Stags are ninth in the League Two table, five points off the automatic-promotion places with a game in hand on several of their promotion rivals, but they have had a tough couple of weeks.
A 3-2 loss at lowly Crawley was followed by a 0-0 draw at home to another struggling side, Newport County, and a 5-2 defeat to Swindon at Field Mill so Nigel Clough's men may not relish their trip north.
Mansfield won 1-0 at Barrow in a scrappy game at the start of last month but the hosts have won their last three matches, all on their own patch, and they look a big price to transfer their impressive league form to the FA Cup.
Best European bet
Hoffenheim v RB Leipzig 2.30pm Saturday
RB Leipzig's decision to sack coach Domenico Tedesco and bring in Marco Rose in September has been vindicated by a scintillating run of form and they should be too sharp for this weekend's Bundesliga hosts Hoffenheim.
Despite losing Germany forward Timo Werner to injury early on Wednesday night, Leipzig won 4-0 at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League, extending their winning run in Europe to four matches.
They beat Real Madrid 3-2 at home on matchday five, qualifying from Group F alongside the European champions, and they have won eight of their last ten games in all competitions, scoring 29 goals.
Their attacking unit remains formidable even without Chelsea loanee Werner. Christopher Nkunku, the Bundesliga's 2021-22 player of the year, Andre Silva and Dominik Szoboszlai all scored against Shakhtar while Dani Olmo and Emil Forsberg are classy creative midfielders.
Hoffenheim have won only two of their last seven matches – league and cup victories over the Bundesliga's bottom club Schalke – and they face a far tougher test this weekend.

Banker
Napoli
The in-form Serie A leaders have already won away to champions Milan, Roma and Lazio this season and they have the attacking firepower to see off second-placed hosts Atalanta.
Blowout
Gillingham
The Gills have scored only two goals in eight League Two away games this season and they may struggle on their FA Cup trip to AFC Fylde, who are going well in the National League North.
