The FedEx Cup race is down to 30 players, with only the Tour Championship left to go, and the action starts at East Lake on Thursday with Scottie Scheffler in pole position.

Scheffler finished tied for third in the BMW Championship on Sunday - Patrick Cantlay was the 16-1 winner - but Scheffler's season-long heroics mean he tops the FedEx standings and gets an edge for East Lake.

The handicap system used for the Tour Championship will see Scheffler start the event on ten under par. Cantlay, second in the FedEx, is eight under par for East Lake, with Will Zalatoris (seven under), Xander Schauffele (six) and Sam Burns (five) filling out the top five.

An $18m bonus cheque is waiting for the FedEx champion. Cantlay beat Jon Rahm in a thrilling duel for the Cup 12 months ago - and the Californian has given himself a golden chance of successfully repeating. A birdie at the 71st hole of the BMW saw him edge Scott Stallings by a shot at Wilmington Country Club.

Shane Lowry narrowly missed out on a place in the top 30 of the FedEx list, so will be missing the Tour Championship finale.

The PGA Tour action takes centre stage this week, but the DP World Tour moves to Crans-sur-Sierre, Switzerland, for the European Masters. Maximilian Kieffer, who triumphed at 55-1 in the Czech Masters on Sunday, is taking a week off to celebrate. Danny Willett and the Hojgaard brothers are among the runners.
