The Presidents Cup takes centre stage for golf punters this week, although UK and Ireland followers will have to absorb the Royal Melbourne action overnight, with the competition starting at 10.30pm on Wednesday.

The opening fourballs start the USA versus Internationals match, the pairings for which will be announced at 5am Tuesday (UK and Ireland). USA, captained by Tiger Woods, are a best-priced 2-5 for victory, while the Internationals can be backed at 11-4. The tie is a 14-1 chance.

The Americans have won the last seven editions of the Presidents Cup and have not been beaten since 1998. The last Internationals success, though, came at Royal Melbourne.

The QBE Shootout, a low-key pairs event in Florida, starts at 3.15pm (UK) on Friday. Billy Horschel and Brendon Todd are favourites.
