Sixteen teams of two are split into four groups of four for the GolfSixes Cascais and the winners of each section could be England, Ireland, Australia and Spain.

Two-time Portugal Masters champion Tom Lewis is alongside Paul Waring, who has a strong record on the Iberian Peninsula, for Group A favourites England. Lewis and Waring can top Scotland, Portugal and India.

Defending champions Ireland – Paul Dunne and Gavin Moynihan – can be fancied to account for Sweden, Thailand and England Women in Group B, while the well balanced combination of Scott Hend and Wade Ormsby look set to edge France, Wales and Germany Women in Group C.

Group D can go the way of Spain, who boast the massively in-form line-up of Jorge Campillo and Nacho Elvira. South Africa, Italy and Denmark may follow them in the section.
