The LPGA Tour season finale starts in Florida at noon UK and Ireland time on Thursday - the CME Group Tour Championship - and a $2m first prize is up for grabs.

The super-consistent Lydia Ko is tournament favourite - and bookmakers will be wary of laying each-way bets on the rock-solid New Zealander. Ko has made 21 starts this year, made every cut, and posted 13 top-tens.

The Gold Course at Tiburon Golf Club hosts the event. Ko can boast six top-ten finishes in nine starts at this venue, strengthening her market leadership, but the value option this week may be Nelly Korda.

The 24-year-old American has timed her return to top form perfectly. The dominant force of last season was derailed by health problems, but victory in last week's Pelican's Women's Championship showed Korda is right back in business.

Rounds of 66, 66 and 64 meant an eighth LPGA Tour title for Korda on Sunday and she has made a short journey south to Tiburon with renewed confidence.

Florida-born Korda is based in Bradenton, so she could stop off at home on the three-hour drive from Belleair (the Pelican venue) to Tiburon. With last week's event only three rounds, there seems great scope for a fresh and hungry Korda to deliver back-to-back success.

Korda has finished in the top ten four times in five Tiburon starts, with one second place and two thirds. She can follow those near-misses by lifting the trophy this time.
