Story so far
The Belgian Knockout started with 144 runners and only eight remain going into the final day at Rinkven International in Antwerp, with Bernd Wiesberger taking over as favourite.

Belgians Thomas Pieters and Thomas Detry were the pre-tournament market leaders, but Pieters failed to qualify for the knockout stages and Detry was beaten in the round of 16 by Gavin Green.

Wiesberger, who won the Made In Denmark last Sunday and is chasing back-to-back European Tour triumphs, was 30-1 ante-post. No bigger than 100-30 is left about the Austrian giant going into the quarter-finals.

Quarter-finals draw
8.30am (UK and Ireland time) Ewen Ferguson v Gavin Green
8.40am Bernd Wiesberger v Guido Migliozzi
8.50am Gregory Havret v Marcel Siem
9.00am Matthew Southgate v Darius Van Driel

Best outright odds
100-30 B Wiesberger, 9-2 M Southgate, 11-2 G Green, 6 G Migliozzi, 15-2 M Siem, 8 E Ferguson, G Havret, 11 D Van Driel

Final-day advice
Bernd Wiesberger is riding the crest of a wave, having completed his comeback from injury with glory in Denmark last Sunday, and confidence will be flooding through his system.

Wiesberger topped the putts per greens in regulation statistics in Denmark last week, an astonishing result for a superb ball-striker who traditionally struggles on the dancefloors. With his putter purring, too, he is the rightful market leader at the last-eight stage of the Belgian Knockout.

That said, Wiesberger has got a tough quarter-final opponent to overcome. Guido Migliozzi needed extra holes to see off David Law in their last-16 encounter, but the match provided further evidence of how much courage the Italian possesses.

Migliozzi won the Kenya Open in courageous fashion in the midde of March for his maiden European Tour title and has played well since. The youngster looks full of bottle and promise, so Wiesberger backers are from certain to even collect their each-way money.

Gavin Green upset Thomas Detry and his army of fans with a flawless nine-hole burst of three under par, and the Malaysian powerhouse will fancy himself against Ewen Ferguson in the opening quarter-final.

The experienced duo of Gregory Havret and Marcel Siem seem likely to play out a tight joust which could go either way, while Matthew Southgate will probably edge 29-year-old Challenge Tour operator Darius Van Driel.

All things considered, the value arguably lies with Green, who is bursting with potential and seems to love this venue. He finished eighth last year in the 36-hole strokeplay element of this event and seventh in the opening two rounds this year – a 12-under-par total which is superior to any of the other 2019 quarter-finalists. Green is yet to shoot over-par in a Belgian Knockout nine-hole match and this may be the tournament where he makes his European Tour breakthrough.

Green would have a difficult semi-final whoever progresses from the Wiesberger versus Migliozzi contest, but he can be fancied against Ferguson, and likewise against any potential final opponent.
