Story so far
European Tour maiden Laurie Canter is 5-4 for the Andalucia Masters after forging a three-shot lead through three rounds at Valderrama, Spain.
Canter, who finished runner-up in the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth just over a month ago, was available at 75-1 ante-post for Valderrama. Jon Rahm was a general 3-1 favourite, but the world number one missed the cut by five shots.
Canter's compatriot, Matt Fitzpatrick, is alone in second place, while American raider David Lipsky is a shot further behind in third spot.
Last Sunday's Spanish Open champion, Rafa Cabrera Bello, started the Andalucia Masters brightly, but rounds of 74 and 73 on Friday and Saturday have dropped him to a share of 21st, nine shots adrift.

Final-round preview
Laurie Canter has never won on the European Tour - and nerves have played a significant role whenever he has got close to changing that fact.
George Coetzee edged Canter in the Portugal Masters just over a year ago, then Ross McGowan was one shot too good for Canter in the Italian Open just under a year ago.
The Bath man's most recent near-miss came at Wentworth, where he had chances to kill off the tournament down the stretch, eventually closing with six consecutive pars before getting pipped by Billy Horschel.
Canter missed three cuts prior to the BMW PGA, then another in the Dunhill Links afterwards, so punters have had a struggle to work out when he will perform. His history of failure under pressure, though, and the difficulty to Valderrama, makes 5-4 quotes easy to dismiss going into the Andalucia Masters final chapter.
Strong preference at a much bigger price is for his fellow Englishman, Matt Fitzpatrick. The six-time European Tour champion is made for the Valderrama challenge and will be confident of overcoming his three-shot deficit.
Racing Post Sport ante-post recommendations, Edoardo Molinari (125-1), Fabrizio Zanotti (66-1) and Alejandro Canizares (175-1), are still close enough to the lead to harbour place claims, but catching Fitzpatrick may prove beyond them all.
The suitability of this assignment to Fitzpatrick is obvious - he is one of the tidiest golfers on the planet - and the one question mark against him was how he would react to his Ryder Cup disappointment. Two Cup caps have yielded no points, which had the potential to unsettle him, but the Sheffield man has applied himself well in Sotogrande and set up the chance of a seventh Tour triumph.
Molinari and Bernd Wiesberger seem the most likely to present problems from behind for Fitzpatrick, but Canter can be expected to wobble in front, making the general 11-4 Fitzpatrick of great interest.
The final threeball of Canter, Fitzpatrick and David Lipsky is scheduled on the tee at 11.50am UK and Ireland time. A sunny, calm day is forecast.
Wiesberger (11.39am) and Molinari (11.28) can be fancied for their final-round threeballs against much more erratic opponents.
