The final two tournaments of last week's golfing feast went the way of Talor Gooch and Jin Young Ko - Gooch triumphed at 40-1 in the RSM Classic, while Ko was the 5-1 winner of the CME Group Tour Championship.

Gooch, a PGA Tour maiden until getting over the line at the Seaside Course in Georgia, repelled Mackenzie Hughes to take the RSM title. Ko defeated world number one Nelly Korda and the rest of the elite Tour Championship field to land the biggest cheque in women's golf ($1.5m).

Prior to that, Chan Kim was the 16-1 winner of the Dunlop Phoenix Open, while Collin Morikawa took advantage of a late collapse from Rory McIlroy and romped to DP World Tour Championship glory. Morikawa was a best-price 17-2 ante-post for the DP. The American also won the Race to Dubai, something for which he was a 25-1 chance at the end of last year.

This week the new 'European Tour' season starts - renamed from this event onwards as the DP World Tour. The Joburg Open is the first tournament on the DP World schedule, starting on Thursday at Randpark Golf Club, Johannesburg, South Africa.

Dean Burmester and George Coetzee are among the Joburg Open hopefuls. Burmester tied for sixth place in the DP World Tour Championship on Sunday.

The Hero World Challenge takes place in the Bahamas next week. It has not been announced whether Tiger Woods, the traditional tournament host, will attend the Hero. Woods was filmed hitting a wedge shot at the weekend, captioned 'making progress' on Twitter, but he will definitely not compete in the event.
