The final day of the Solheim Cup looks set to be a thriller - Europe take a two-point lead into the 12 singles matches and bookmakers are struggling to identify a favourite.

The United States, 1-2 at the outset, have failed to live up to their billing over the first two days of action, slipping three points behind on Saturday and unable to make much of a comeback on Sunday.

The singles session is often pivotal in this contest and the States are a general 11-10 to overcome their deficit at Inverness Club, Ohio.
Europe can be backed at a best-price 5-4 with Betfred to successfully defend their advantage and win an away Solheim Cup for only the second time. The action resumes at 5.05pm UK and Ireland time, with Lexi Thompson facing Anna Nordqvist in the opening singles match.

The 11-10 USA is tempting - the world rankings indicate clear superiority and the home support should be fervent on the Labor Day Bank Holiday - but Jessica Korda has reportedly been labouring with sickness this week and the competition seems likely to still be alive as Korda tackles Charley Hull in the penultimate match.

There is a fascinating dynamic to the final singles clash - Emily Kristine Pedersen's boyfriend is the caddie of her opponent Danielle Kang. That 6.55pm match could determine the destiny of the Cup. Europe have made the competition much closer than was anticipated.

The two men's events of last week went to Nicolai Hojgaard and Patrick Cantlay. Hojgaard was a late entrant to the Italian Open field - handed a last-gasp sponsors invite - so was not even priced up by bookmakers ante-post. Cantlay was 4-1 joint-favourite for the Tour Championship with Jon Rahm, who he beat by a shot in a tense duel at East Lake, Georgia.

Rahm and Kevin Na tied first in the Tour Championship 72-hole market without the handicaps. Xander Schauffele, Cantlay, Justin Thomas and Viktor Hovland completed the places.
