After Bryson DeChambeau claimed his first breakaway title with a closing 58 at Greenbrier last week, the LIV Tour stays in the USA and heads to Bedminster, New Jersey to take in the demands of the Trump National Golf Club.

Henrik Stenson ruffled a few feathers last year by winning on his LIV debut shortly after being stripped of the Ryder Cup captaincy and this looks a week when straight and long hitters can make a bold bid for the $4m first prize.

Ian Wilkerson's top tip

Talor Gooch 14-1

DeChambeau's first LIV victory has been on the cards for a while and this week's 7,524-yard test looks primed for more bombs from the boffin, but Talor Gooch could again be the one who proves too strong for the 48-man field.

Gooch has firmly established himself among the best LIV players and will have fond memories of his last trip to New Jersey, where he shot a second-round 64 for a sixth-spot finish.

He has already claimed victories in Adelaide, Singapore and Andalucia this year and heads to Bedminster having finished seventh at Greenbrier, where he started with rounds of 64 and 65 before fading on Friday.

That performance would have given him a lift after he missed the cut at the Open. He has sufficient length off the tee and the desired accuracy - he ranked fifth in that metric on the LIV stats - to ensure he can improve on last year's performance and make an even stronger challenge.

Next best bet

Matthew Wolff 40-1

There was a welcome return to form for Matthew Wolff last week and he may be able to build on a strong performance at Greenbrier.

He started the year with three straight top-ten finishes but mental health problems were cited as his results collapsed over the next six tournaments, which included a withdrawal from the event in Washington.

That left some, including Brooks Koepka, questioning his application but Wolff has reacted well and fired an opening 61 last week on his way to third.

He can give it plenty off the tee and closed with a 64 a year ago to finish tied for second, two shots off the pace at Trump National, so it's worth chancing that his mind is in a good place and he can build on last week's morale-booster.
